Treadmill test / Excercise stress Test

Treadmill test / Excercise stress Test.

It is nothing but excercise Ecg. Patient/ Person does walking on treadmill with ECG lead connections. Resting ecg will be used as baseline and ecg at each stage of excercise will be compared. The principle is to increase the heart rate maximum for the age and to see for any symptoms or ecg changes during the excercise.
If the resting ecg is normal and no (ST-T) changes observed during the Target heart rate then it is negative test for inducible ischemia. (Means no significant blockages)
If the resting ecg is normal and if (ST-T) changes observed during the excercise then it is positive test for inducible ischemia (Means significant blockages)
Patient with ongoing cardiac pain/ biomarkers positive should not do TMT
TMT iis having 70-80% sensitivity , means to it can give clue about the blockages in 75-80% of the cases. it can be false positive means 10-20% of the postive reports may not have blockages. Results should be opined by cardiologist.
TMT will cost you Rs 2000.
